James (Jim) Manson, M.Sc., P.Eng.
Principal

Jim is a senior mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience across a broad spectrum of industries including district energy systems, combined heat and power, sustainable and renewable energy systems, and the oil and gas industry. Recently Jim been the FVB Principal for the Federal Government’s ESAP project modernizing the capital’s District Heating and Cooling systems.  Jim has also operated a large-scale steam-based district heating system in downtown Vancouver serving over 40 million square feet.  Prior to this Jim helped communities in BC and Alberta implement successful district heating systems from scratch including Revelstoke, Strathcona County, and Prince George.  Jim’s role ranged from pre-feasibility and detailed feasibility studies through to financial modeling, marketing services, design, project implementation, and ongoing support during operations including customer interface optimization.  Jim is experienced with low carbon energy sources and associated technologies.
